Admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1991 attorney Robert L. Arleo has dedicated his law practice almost exclusively to representing clients pursuant to the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, more commonly referred to as the “FDCPA”. Attorney Arleo represents both consumers and debt collectors in regard to FDCPA matters. His consumer clients, and other consumers named in FDCPA class action lawsuits he commenced, have recovered monetary payment from debt collectors in conjunction with pre-suit FDCPA settlements and with both individual and class action FDCPA lawsuits. His debt collector clients retained attorney Arleo to provide advice concerning FDCPA compliance and in conjunction with FDCPA lawsuits brought by consumers.
Attorney Robert L. Arleo taught FDCPA as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. He has lectured regarding the FDCPA by invitation before professional legal associations.
Although most of his cases have been commenced in various United States District Courts located within the State of New York attorney Arleo has also served as an attorney with special court permission to appear in FDCPA cases brought in federal courts in other states including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, Florida, Illinois and California. Mr. Arleo has been confirmed as a class counsel by District Court Judges in various federal courts.
